Cham-bette Christmas home tour a success

SAUGEEN SHORES -

Approximately 1,000 people gleaned holiday decorating ideas as they visited six Saugeen Shores properties Nov. 17-18 for the Chantry Island Cham-bette's annual Christmas Tour of Homes.

Although the fundraising total was not available at press time, Cham-bette Tour of Homes spokesperson Martha Bennett was confident proceeds would benefit local health care. (Last year's proceeds were approximately $16,700.)

"The [Tour] committee will recommend the Cham-bette portion of proceeds go to Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, entirely, this year, but that will need a vote from the entire club. The rest will go to CCCC, which hosted at two homes and staged raffles,"" Bennett said in a Nov. 19 email.

She said the event's continued success is due to sponsors, homeowners, decorators, Wismer House and Outlaw Brew Co. that hosted after-hours mingling, and the ladies from the United Church who hosted a luncheon at the Anglican Church in Southampton.
