2017 Southern Living Christmas cookbook now available

The 24th annual Southern Living Christmas cookbook is now available at Dillard’s for $10. All net proceeds will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest.

This year’s book features 280 pages, with 175 new recipes and holiday decorating ideas.

The cookbook will be sold through Dec. 31.

Madison Capital hires equipment leasing professional

Madison Capital, a national provider of equipment and commercial vehicle financing, announced the appointment of Kalah Sprabeary as vice president of business development.

Sprabeary will be based in Lubbock, but will also serve other south-central states.

She began her career in equipment leasing in 2013 when she and her husband, Jay, bought Stateline Equipment Leasing and provided financing for oilfield and heavy construction equipment industrial site housing. Her experience also includes serving as an account manager for Capital Asset Resource.

Parkhill, Smith & Cooper earn architecture award

The American Institute of Architects Lubbock Chapter announced its annual design awards this past week, with two projects designed by Parkhill, Smith & Cooper earning top awards.

PSC’s design of McBride Elementary School in Fort Benning, Georgia, won the honor award, the top award given, according to a news release from the firm. Their design of the First Presbyterian Church in Midland won the merit award.

Mike Baker and Kreg Robertson, both of PSC, expressed gratitude for the awards in the news release.

Rawls College of Business makes Bloomberg Businessweek ranking

Bloomberg Business recently ranked the masters in business administration program at Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business as the 76th best in the nation.

According to Bloomberg, the rankings are based on data compiled from surveys of recruiters, alumni and recent graduates’ success at finding jobs and earning high starting wages after college, reads a news release from the university. The program ranked especially well in the job placement category.

“We are excited to see the Rawls College of Business continuing to move up in the national rankings of MBA programs,” said Michael Galyean, Texas Tech provost, in the news release. “This recognition reflects a commitment by Rawls College faculty members and college leadership to develop programs of the highest quality.”
